Welcome to The Providence School

The Providence School is an online program of the Providence Country Day School (PCD), a college-preparatory school located in East Providence, Rhode Island. Considered one of the top private schools in the U.S., PCD has been serving students in grades 6-12 since 1923.  The Providence School provides students The Providence Country Day college prep experience from the comfort of home and on their own schedules. In every PCD program, our goal is to help your child become an independent thinker and a resilient innovator.

The Providence School offers an instructional model that includes a self-paced learning environment combined with real-time engagements. Our Providence School teachers are caring, highly qualified, subject area experts. Through real-time engagements, teachers strive to get to know each learner and to help them achieve their academic goals.

Our approach to online college prep courses allows your child to: 

  • Be flexible by completing coursework when convenient and at their own pace 
  • Take accountability for their learning experience through involvement in their course selection and completion of instructional lessons and activities 
  • Meet with online teachers in real-time to ask questions and get feedback on their work 
  • Meet with other Online Academy students to get to know and engage with their peers 
  • Learn valuable skills for real-life including time management, goal setting, study skills, and more 

Designed specifically for online learning, The Providence School courses meet the same college prep standards as the on-campus courses but provide students a rich self-paced course experience.
